As an Artist and Designer I see the truck loads of textiles that we as a society burn and put into landfill every second as a resource. The fun and challenge lies in figuring out how to use it and what to make. It's a different way of thinking - using what we’ve already got and being creative with that.
This is the antithesis to fast fashion which has been training us to see textiles as a completely disposable item. Recycling and reusing secondhand clothes is a great choice as a consumer to combat the overconsumption of resources that our planet and our own health and existence pays the price for. There are a lot more people becoming conscious of the impact of their choices. When you buy something that has been repurposed you are joining in the circular solution that reduces waste. It is a statement that reminds us that it’s possible for us to change our thinking and habits around how we live on this planet.
